Life Changer

I'm out of college, looking for a job in Radio Broadcasting and need to get my butt back on the healthy wagon. (For some reason, when I'm healthy, I'm successful.)

Where Am I now?

So its been over a month since I've last put up a post.  I'm trying to keep track of what I eat and I'm working out 4 times a week on average.  I got Lose It! for my iPhone after reading some of your reviews.  I love it! I'm doing a weights program 3 times a week and its actually pretty awesome.  I became kind of fed up with how long it takes to move through the excercises.  I can't just pop on the balance board for a quick workout. even the 30 minute ones end up taking more like 45 minutes.

Day 2: A Little Stiff

I need to go to the Chiropractor!  I'm not as bad off as I usually am after conventional workouts but I definitely feel a stiffness in my back and my left knee.  When I would do some of the strength excercises it would pop. :-/  Well to officially track my workout: 7/15/09 Easy 60 Minute Weight Loss Workout 1; 7/16/09 Easy 60 Minute Yoga Workout 1 and I am about to do the Easy 60 Minute Endurance Workout 1.  I am looking for ideas has to how much time to dedicate to my workouts every day.  I want to get started with Yoga every day and then rotate between weight loss, endurance and strength.  Should I do 1 hour of both? or 30 minutes of yoga followed by the appropriate 1 hour workout? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.  I'm also trying to just make healthy choices in my eating at this time. I'm not ready to make the step up to totally lifestyle change on the food yet.  AI'm trying to actively drink alot of water to keep me full and I keep a  pitcher of iced green tea when I get tired of water. :-) I'm also trying to fill my meals with lots of fruits and veggies as well as good proteins.  Though it's gonna kill me, I am going to try with all my being to stay away from fried foods.  I have started keeping a food journal to help me out.

Day 1: A New Leaf

I'm a southern girl who, thanks to her parents, was able to stay thin as a child by swimming. Despite having less than ideal eating habits. (hey its the South: the food is great, its just not great for you.) But the years of college and general laziness have caught up to me. right now I'm sitting at 136 lbs. and I have energy problems almost every day. I would like to get to be around 110-115 lbs. (don't worry, this is normal for someone who is 5'2" like me) but really I just want to feel great. I don;t want to wake up tired. I feel like if I start making it a habit to work it out at least on the Wii for an hour a day, I will be on my way to being the best me I can be. I also need to completely revamp my diet. I really would like to jump on the clean eating  band wagon.  I feel like it is the most balanced diet I've seen in a while.  So these are my goals: 1. to get a daily workout routine down and stick to it, 2. change my eating habits around to make me the best me I can be. Tonight was the the kickoff.  I just finshed my first 60 minute workout on the Wii Fit and it was wonderful.  Tomorrow I am going to wake up with yoga and finish with strength training.  Here's to turning over a new leaf!
