Today was an early day for me, I woke up at 7am because I had an interview at 10am. I did workout and made a smoothie for breakfast with half a whole wheat english muffin with some PB. It was a cup of fruit (blueberries, starberries and banana with half cup of juice and a cup of ice). It wasn't that good, but I am new to smoothies so I will try again with some different fruit and juice. Since I wasn't at home I got Potbelly for lunch: veggie sub on whole grain bread with yes, chips :X I know I shouldn't have but I couldn't resist. I DID however finally get "looks like you have been losing weight" from a co worker today. It felt amazing. So happy. I did walk the stairs once today and across the building twice. My best friend made me my favorite cupcakes today since it was my last day at work before my birthday. I did have 1, they are so amazing. Yellow cake filled with vanilla pudding and the tops are dipped in chocolate ganche. Best shit ever. For dinner I had a veggie sub on wheat from Subway. Not too bad except for the chips and cupcake. I am home now and feeling hungry, I think I might either have the left over fried rice or a pickle and pretzels. Guess which one I want more. I will have  cocktail no matter what ;)

I really could have slept in today and for a minute I did think about it. I really had to make myself get out of bed. I walked the dogs for 30 minutes, and did Wii Fit for 25 mins (I ran out of time, need to eat lunch and get ready for work).

Total time: 55 mins
Total calories burned: 258

Yesterday  I said I probably wouldn't work out. BUT I did. Kind of. I decided I wouldn't do my normal routine, I just did the "fun" stuff: 10 min yoga, Advanced Step, Rhythm Kung Fu, Obstacle Course x2, and Tilt City. I also wanted to play Wii Sports Resort, so I did about 15 mins on there: Basketball, Table Tennis Bowling. Total time = 41 mins, cals burned probably around 110 - 130 area. Not sure since Wii Sports Resort does't track calories burned.

No real workout today, I had to work early. I walked the stairs 3 times and went on a 10 minute walk around the building. Which burned about 160 calories.
Breakfast: Whole Grain bagel with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Lunch: Corn Chowder Soup.
Dinner: Lo Mein, fried rice and veggie egg roll.

Work was very slow today so I did some research on recipes and healthy snacks and food. cookinglight.com is a fantastic website for ideas for eating healthy. Got a lot of good snacking tips that I can't wait to try out. I will need to plan out a week of food before heading to the grocery store so I don't overbuy.

Yesterday I did find the drive to walk up/down the stairs at work which is something I reallllly need to start doing again. This morning I was all ready to wake up and take the dogs out on a walk but it is pouring rain. So disappointed. The husband is playing video games so the TV is occupied so no workout until later. IF I even do one. If I don't workout right when I wake up then the chances of me doing anything the rest of the day is slim to none. But, we will see. I still haven't been shopping since I got back from Chicago so I don't have much to eat in the house - especially nothing healthy. I can't go to the store because I spent all my money in Chicago but I do get paid Monday and can't wait to go buy some fruits and veggies. For dinner I will make whole wheat spaghetti with marinara sauce (maybe cook a Morningstar patty and make a chicken parmesan type thing). For lunch I will probably have a veggie sandwich on a 100 calorie whole grain bun. Oh, and it is one of my good friends birthday today and we will be celebrating. I won't drink too much though (hopefully) because I have to work in the morning.

It is another perfect day to be outside today so I took the dogs on a walk. I then got on the Wii for about 30 mins.


Aerobics: Advanced Step, Basic Run - Island Lap
Strength: Sideways Leg Lift (20), Single Leg Twist (20), Jackknife (30), Balance Bridge (I think thats what it is called).
Yoga: HalfMoon, Downward Facing Dog, Dance.

Walk 25 mins/120 calories + WiiFit 32 mins/153 calories = 57 mins/273 cals

I did a body test today and I was semi-pleased with the results. I did lose 2 pounds since last week which is good. Then I decided to see how much I have lost since I started in January and I have only lost 8 pounds total. I am getting to my goal very slowly. I don't think 8 pounds in 3 months is that much. I can see maybe 10 pounds? I don't know, maybe I am wrong. I need to start doing the stairs at work again, I think that would really help.
I did end up having pizza with my family last night so I have a few pieces of that left for dinner tonight with a salad. For lunch I will have a Morningstar chickin patty wrap (whole wheat tortilla) and an apple for a snack at work.
On a side note, I still have not heard back from the job I interviewed for 2 weeks ago. She told me I would hear something the next week or the week after. Well, this is Friday of the week after and having not heard anything is really gut wrenching. I can't just not stand my current job anymore, but it is to the point now where I have had so many interviews in the last few months (5 I think since last October, all within my same company) that it is just embarrassing that I haven't gotten an offer yet. And with this one, I feel like if I can't get this job I should just give up. I am qualified and had 2 great referrals. I'm worried about my mental state if I am rejected. Ugh. Let's hope today goes well.

The weather today was PERFECT for being outside so I definitely took advantage of it and took the dogs on a 25 minute walk. I would have gone longer but they are pugs and can only last so long. I got out the Wii Fit and was scolded because I have been absent for 6 days... if it only knew. I wanted to do a body test but I was kind of nervous. Even though I kept active and ate pretty well I still enjoyed the booze more so than I normally would in a typical week so honestly I would be thrilled just to break even on the scale. I will weigh in tomorrow.
I did 38 minutes on the Wii:  Advanced step, Basic Run - Long and Island Lap, Single Leg Extension (20), Single Leg Twists (20), Jackknives (30), Arm & Leg Lift, and the rest yoga to stretch out.

25 min walk (~120 cals) + 38 mins Wii (192 cals) = 63 mins/312 cals burned

For lunch today I had a Morningstar chickin patty wrap (whole wheat tortilla). For dinner I will either make spaghetti with marinara sauce or go to my parents house for pizza.

3/10/10 - Day3 & 4, Chicago

Today is my last day here, so sad. I love this city.

Yesterday I decided to order room service, and even though I wanted more than anything in the world to order the pancakes, I ordered the smarter choice - a scrambled egg, toasted english muffin and a cup of fruit. I then worked out for 40 minutes on the elliptical and burned 352 calories. I walked A LOT around the city and always opt for the stairs rather than the escalator but I really don't know how many calories that burned. I went to this Thai place for lunch and got a nice plate of steamed veggies and rice noodles and made myself stop eating once I was satisfied. I did go into the Hershey store and I bought a reese cup cookie - BUT I only ate half and brought the other half back to my husband. For dinner we met up with a friend and got a nice big pizza and a few beers. Yes, I overindulged.
