So, I have been REALLY careful with what I have been eating. I have been following the food pyramid and trying to burn more calories than I have eaten. I enjoy organizing so figuring out my workout is the highlight of my day. The only problem is, I'm not losing weight as fast as I thought I would be. I can definitely tell that I am getting leaner. The weight is just not coming off. What can I do? On the flip side, I ran a mile and a half today without needing to stop, a first in a long time. I have fallen in love with my Wii, it's official. Look out Tony!

I get those perplexing plateaus or even weight gain when I should be losing sometimes. For me it's always due to one of 3 things: A. Replacing fat with muscle, since muscle weighs more. B. Water weight before my period or after having too much sodium. or C. Starvation mode, because of too big of a calorie deficit. Apparently, if the body thinks it's in danger of starving it starts stashing away weight somehow. Not exactly sure how that works, but I assume it's true because there have been times where eating more made weight come off faster
The tricky part is keeping at it when the benefits are not immediately apparent. It will pay off!

I would say do nothing. You are losing weight which is the goal. Also weight is just a number, being leaner is a much better way of judging success, at least in my book. I weigh myself once a week and it works great since I'm not focusing on just the number but on the lifestyle. I suppose if you really want to lose weight more cardio is the answer. Based on that 1.5 mile run that you did I don't think you're losing weight too slowly.
