I had to double up this blog entry with the site being down most of the day, these things happen though :). I managed to squeeze in Tuesday’s challenge just before the boys got home. I seem to hit my afternoon slump about half an hour after I eat lunch, so I’m thinking that may be a better time to get the blood flowing. This is my third attempt (third time’s the charm) at starting the 30 Day Challenge. First go, I set to medium intensity, and by rest day I could barely get up the stairs. So on the second go, I played it safe and set to light intensity… borrrring…. I think I gave it up mostly because I was bored out of my tree. This time I’m back to medium intensity and just going to do whatever I can to push through it, I like a challenge so it suits me better, but man can I feel the burn now lol.

The other change I made this time is to purchase higher-level resistance bands. The one included with the EA kit is ok, but I felt my lower body was getting a far better workout than my upper body. With the higher resistance, I feel it is a bit more even now. I do want to invest in some ankle/wrist weights & dumbbells shortly too.

Wednesday was rest day on EA Active Sports, so I pulled out Wii Fit Plus and worked on my yoga, strength training & did free step for 20. First time I've done a body test in 20 days, and although I didn't lose much, considering I've done next to nothing in those 20 days, better than weight gain me thinks. I feel I'm ready now to get a riser for my balance board too, the stepping is getting too easy, but man, can I feel my thighs & buttocks this morning LoL. Until I can get set in a routine of balancing kids, home, school, photography & workouts, I’m trying to stick to 30 minutes a day (which seems to take up about an hour of my time for some reason). It’s hard to keep it there, I enjoy my workouts, but anything more right now and then other things don’t get accomplished. One step at a time J.

Keep up the good work everyone!

I can relate to "30 minutes turns into an hour." I think I just recently have been able to balance real time and Wii time so that I am able to start the Wii and be done when I need to be lol.
Good luck to you smilies/smiley.gif

I don't know how you finish your EA workouts faster than projected time. I'm always a few minutes longer than projected time. On the bright side projected burn is always less than actual burn so thats great.

LoL MrsStew, good job, what's your secret?... For me the issue is the set up time, the stops for various reasons,- yesterday I had to replace batteries on the balance board, then re-sync to the Wii as it was having issues - and then of course, recording other activities, yada yada lol. Wii Fit is even worse with having to constantly switch between the exercises.

SJ, I don't know how I'm doing it, all I can think is that I don't need most of the training videos?

lol yeah the time between exercises is the worst. I was hopeful when the Wii Fit Plus came out since they said you can put together a routine. Unfortunately you can only do that with yoga and strength training, no aerobics or anything else. AND you can only do the lowest increment of reps for each exercise so you have to add it multiple times if you want to do more than 6 or 10 reps. IT SUCKS.
