I've never liked oatmeal. It's eewy gooey. Sludge. Makes me wanna throw up.
I like Brown Sugar & Maple toasties (pop-tarts).
Idea? Let's try Brown Sugar & Maple oatmeal!
Result? One bowl of instant brown sugar & maple oatmeal consumed this morning; managed until the last bite to avoid gagging.
The V-8 was a nice chaser, followed by the (bad but yummy) medium Dunkin Donuts coffee with cream and sugar.
Not too bad of a morning...

The oatmeal is good for the fiber in it. The V8 is fantastic for the vitamins in it.
The coffee and Dunkin Donuts...not so much.
But, its a start. It took me a week to go cold turkey on Mt Dew.

I switched from frosted Pop-Tarts to plain Pop-Tarts. I barely noticed the difference. It's not a huge change but it's something. Plus I stay away from all the chocolate and sugary ones, fruit flavors only since they have less calories because I can't give up Pop-Tarts. Many people I know use blueberries or other fresh fruit to mix with oatmeal to make it more tolerable. I make a mean oatmeal blueberry banana cookie. All the benefits of oatmeal with a wonderful flavor. If you want the recipe PM me.

My favourite breakfast item is a greek omelet...I'm not sure if it's your style but give it a try:
Scramble 1 egg and 2 oz egg whites (or just two eggs and some water) with some chopped onion and green pepper...fry in pan as you would normally an omelet.
Fill with diced tomato, feta cheese and any of your favourite spices
I'm on weight watchers and made with egg whites and light feta cheese still tastes great, is super filling and only takes up 4 "points", which is the same as one piece of toast with butter...maybe less than, depending on how much butter you use.
Sorry for the novel. I just know how it is to struggle with finding creative recipes that are satisfying and healthy.
