Best Exercises for my hips & toosh? Print this page
So, I know we have a routine generator to target legs but what about my hips and butt? What are the best exercises for me to decrease the toosh & hips

I also have a riser for my board for the step aerobics..does that help with the toosh or just my legs?

The riser's awesome! I love doing the free-step and advanced with it! I just can't tell if it's working my toosh..I think it's supposed to though..

I did 10 min free step last night and will do 20 tonight (I was informed today that I have a big butt). Ugh!

A big butt isn't necessarily a bad thing. Lots of cushion for sitting. I think Wii Fit Plus routines has routines preprogrammed that target hips and legs, not so sure about butt though. I think most exercises on here dealing with legs or hips will help tone and firm the butt too. I actually got some new underwear yesterday and when I looked in the mirror today my butt looked tighter and feels firmer. Freestep is great, I only do 30 minutes with 3 inch risers when necessary. Check my pics for the risers.

As for risers I don't use them. I got some particle board and had it cut to dimensions 22" by 14" and layer them up depending on how much a workout I want. The plastic riser looks flimsy to me, I'm not sure how they connect to the board and I wanted something solid. Some exercises require the board to be basically at floor level and I wouldn't want to deal with screws and such everytime I needed to remove them. Plus all I have to do to increase or decrease height is add or remove a few boards.

The risers actually fit like a "coaster" for the board. There are indentations so that the board sits on top with the "legs" fitted in place. Supposedly supports up to 325lb or something like that. I'm tempted to buy one to add the extra effort to the workout, but it could only be for the step exercise - otherwise I'd probably fall off it. haha!

Just joined and saw your post. I just did some lunges yesterday and my glutes and upper hamstrings are fairly sore today. I would not rely solely on Aerobic routines as strength training is where the money is. Hope this helps.

Lunges and squats. I have a problem I hate doing legs my best toosh exercise ar leg curls on the bench with leg attachment.
