What Motivates You? Print this page
I thought if we started a thread about what motivates everyone, new members would see it and get ideas about what could motivate them. That way they could get in shape and would tell their friends and we'd get more members and get more people healthy.

What motivates me:
1. I was tired of being heavy. I wasn't exactly heavy for my height, but it definitely wasn't toned and compared to my friends I was the "fattest" guy in the group. I wasn't happy about my weight and I wasn't going to get happy by sitting on the couch all day. After 6 hard months of working out I'm now the most healthy and toned person in the group.
2. Seeing that their are other people who used Wii Fit and made the community based around it really helped too. I got to utilize them as a resource for my newbiness at first and learn what works best for them. Then I adapted that to see what worked best for me.
3. Money. Since I've been working out I noticed I eat much less than normal and I'm eating alot healthier too. I eat out only once per week now and hand make most of the rest of my meals. I rarely eat canned goods anymore like Chef Boyardee. Even though they are excellently tasty they are hugely fatty and lacking in nutrients.
4. Lately more women are finding me attractive. It must be my stunning personality. I have no doubt that part of it is due to losing weight and being more physically fit.


This doesn't cover everything that motivates me but it is most of it.

what motivates me is i'm tired of being the funny fat friend i been heavy since the age of 15. I had something bad happen to me no one should go thou. And from then i became a kinda emotional eater....still kinda active but when i was 17 or 18 i wasn't as active. And 30 is right around the corner i'm 27 now and want to end my 20 and begin my 30's and a more healthier body. i try to blog to help me progress with my goals

Wanting to fit comfortably in clothes that make me look good! Also, when I workout I have higher self esteem and feel better throughout the day. The days I don't work out I just feel lazy and gross, which is not an enjoyable feeling.

What motivates me

I no longer want to be fat and only be able to get my clothe mail order or from the Fat Shop (Evans if you are in UK!!)

I want to feel sexy again and feel attractive.

I want to walk to the top of the hills in the Yorkshire Dales without feeling my lungs are going to burst!

When I go on holiday I want to enjoy having a hot tub and not feel embarrassed about wearing a swimming costume.

I will achieve this by doing my exercises and healthy eating it is great finding this site so it is fun using the wii fit and combining it with my other excersises

I'm mostly just tired of the flab, the lack of energy, endurance and strength. I also want to look nicer. For myself and for my husband too.

For me I think it's mostly seeing that I'm large in photographs. Also, I think I'm the largest person that I know, and it's just something I need to start taking seriously. I'm a few weeks away from 30, so it's time to be more serious about it.

Hmmm, good question... What motivates me?

1. Well, first and foremost I would have to say that I hate it when my trousers get a bit too tight.
2. I love the rush I get after working out.
3. And I love how much easier I can move when I'm not carrying around those 5 pounds I shouldn't be.

My situation seems to be a bit different to a lot of people here,as according to the wii fit body test, I've just hit underweight. But I don't want to lose any weight, just the annoying blob on my belly. I want to improve my endurance and suppleness, and tone up my stomach. The only reason I'm so light is because I seriously lack any muscle.

So what motivates me is;
~If I do a few exercises i nthe morning before heading out to college I feelmore awake and have more energy.

~I have lost a lot off my belly, and knowing that I could get the rest off before bikini season is a big motivator for me!

~Getting stronger muscles and toning up will help my horse riding so much more, as my instructor is building the lessons up to get be ready for competitive jumping.

~After exercising, I feel so healthy I'm not as prone to binging on snack foods. As a sugar fiend, this is a big thing for me! xD

1. It's really had to buy clothes where I am. I live in a rural area, and the nearest "fat" store is two hours away. I can sometimes buy in the stores around here, but I'm an extra large in shirts, and most of the jeans only go up to 34 in the waist (which I am), and there is only usually one or two pairs on the rack, compaired to many for 28, 30, 32.

2. I want to be able to wear a bikini. Pretty self explanitory.

3. I don't like taking my shirt off around my boyfriend because of some rolls. I wanna change that, too.

And, I keep a couple motivational pictures up in my room, of the figure that I want to achieve, so I have to see it every single day.

I've found that success is a great motivator - After 10 weeks of Wii Fit and 8 weeks of diet, a coworker stopped me and said "You've lost a lot of weight (18 lbs), you look great". That's nice to hear and makes me want to keep going - so everyone keep it up and don't get discouraged!
