14 days in Seem Lost Print this page
Me and my Fiancee use a recumbent bike with the WFP! We go 50 minutes on bike while other does 40-50 min on WFP then switch, so 1hr30min to 1hr45min everyday. I have lost 7 lbs in the time and she has only lost .3 lbs! i am 275lbs now she is 146lbs! I limit myself to 1675 calories and she is at 1250. Can anyone guide me on which routines to generate or pick on here for me and her i know this is asking a lot but we need some reassurance.

Thanks

The more weight you have to lose, the easier it usually comes off at first. Most of what you're losing is water weight to begin with, and higher body mass also burns more calories. At 146lbs, there's not as much to lose...your fiancee is likely gaining muscle mass. She may not be losing weight just yet, but might be noticing slightly looser pants or a little more muscle definition.

Since you've both only been at it for a few weeks, be patient...it could take a few more weeks to see results.

As for routines, I'd suggest doing the higher calorie burn exercises - rhythm boxing, running, hula hoop, island cycle and step aerobics (with a 3" extender, if possible -- can buy at most game stores). While yoga is great for stretching, the times are deceiving and the calorie burn is pretty low. I'd save those moves for the end of your workout when you're winding down, to help you stretch.

Another suggestion would be to pick up EA: More Workouts and/or Gold's Gym Cardio Workout (boxing). Both have a lot of exercises that pack really great calorie burns into them, and in the case of EA: More Workouts, you can do a 6 Week Challenge at various levels or set up your own custom workout. Having other games also helps to round out your regimen and work your muscles in different ways. Also, since you're both working out together, you can take advantage of the two-player mode in the EA game!

Hope this helped a bit. Stick with it!

Losing the weight takes time. If you average one pound lost a week that would be great progress. It's a small reasonable goal that is usually a common goal for most people. Also by setting it small and easy it keeps you motivated when you reach your goal. If your goal is to lose weight you want to do exercises that are high cardio where you are moving alot. Running, boxing, freestep, hula hoop, any high cardio exercise is what you want. If you want something that will wear you out, definitely go for EA:SA or EA:MW. They work great and are alot more cardio based. Wii Fit Plus gives you the more well rounded approach. I lost 30 pounds over the course of 6 months using mainly WFP. I wish you both luck.
