Like others, I work out regularly with WiiFit but only do the body test once a week. I use the balance board as my scale as well. I'm careful to do it on the same day, at roughly the same time, and wear the same clothes to get an accurate weigh in.

Since I started about 5 weeks ago, I had lost a total of 12.6 pounds! It's a great accomplishment, and I've got a ways to go, but this week I had a setback....

This week I gained 1.2 pounds, so that put me back closer to 10 pounds....and I honestly don't know why it happened.

I'm not new to the dieting world. I know that plateaus occur, but not this early in a program, and you usually just stay the same or lose like .1 or .2 pounds...NOT gain over a pound.... I've stuck to a very good regiment of diet and exercise and I know that as a woman, we retain water weight about a week before our periods, but that's not an issue this week.

The only things I did differently were I began to incorporate crunches into my routine (but only did them twice last week) as well as I bought a shake-weight and did that a couple of times as well.

Has this happened to anyone else?

It happens to all of us. Don't feel too bad about it. I've weighed myself twice in a row before and gotten up to a pound difference even though the tests were literally 1 minute apart. So it's not exact. Carpeted floors seem to irritate the board sometimes too which makes the weight shift. Maybe with the consistent exercise you are putting on a bit of muscle too. All things considered I think you're doing a great job.

I do have carpeted floors, so I can see why that might effect the balance board. I'm excited to see what happens next week!

PMS Will make me gain 5 lbs in one week, but it goes away afterwards. Keep that in mind as you weight yourself!
