Been doing them all in order... is that wrong? Print this page
Hello

Been using Wii Fit about 2 weeks now

I didn't know any better so I have just been doing everything in the order it was one the screen. Starting with Yoga, then Strength then the Aerobics. Havent done any of the games in the 4th box. When I would unlock new poses or exercises, I would just do them as well when I got to them the next day.

I started poking around looking at sites and found this site, and reading so many threads about routines and changing it up everyday, now Im starting to think maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Should I not be doing every box in order?

Let me know
Thanks

Every routine focuses on toning different areas. When you click the box it states what the exercise is supposed to do to benefit your body. For example, if you want to work on your arms, why would you do deep breathing, spinal twist or situps first even though they appear first on the screen? Depending on what part of the body you want to work on, pick and choose the exercises best suited for that particular goal. You achieve the results you want to see faster with a routine that focuses on the areas you want to work. That's what I do at least.

That's kind of what I am saying. I just do them all in order becuase thats what I assumed I was supposed to do. I thought they appeared in that order becuase it's the order your supposed to do the exercises in

Wasnt until I found this site that I am now thinking maybe it's not the case

Although I am not trying to work on any specific muscle group or anything, I am interested in working everything

What I'm really looking to find out is if it is doing more harm than good doing everything in the menu in order, or if it's fine to do it that way if you are interested in working everything

It won't do any harm doing things the way you are doing them now. It will however take longer to reach your overall fitness goal. If you want to lose weight, aerobics would be my first guess, not yoga or strength training. If you wanted to get stronger I wouldn't do balance games first. See what I mean? You can continue the way you're doing them if you like, but just know it will take longer to achieve your overall fitness goal.

The way they are organized on the screen is just that, a way to organize the exercises so that you can find them easily. You can do them in any order, and it's a good idea to mix it up to keep your body guessing and working hard. Try to do your workouts in a set that includes a warm up and a cool down, such as 3 yoga exercises at the beginning and a different 3 yoga moves at the end, to help prevent injury and soreness.

The routines on here might also help you with a flowing workout, instead of having to stop and wonder what to do next.

Do your workout how you like it, and how comfortable you feel when doing them. Do not overdo it, and make sure you're having fun with them. It depends on what you want to accomplish. there's really no right or wrong way...
