Which exercises specifically target spare tire? Print this page
Going on about 4 months now... down 50 pounds, notice the loss everywhere but my spare tire.

I do the full jackknife exercise every routine already

What other exercises on Wii Fit Plus specifically target that area?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, there isn't really one exercise that will specifically hit the dreaded spare tire. The ab routines will definitely help strengthen your core, but the only way to lose belly flab is decrease it everywhere. Losing 50 lbs is fantastic and I bet that you've lost some of that tire already. I would suggest that you do the strength training 3 or 4 times a week. By building more lean muscle mass, you'll burn more calories while resting.

Make sure that you aren't only using the scale to measure weight loss. Although it's a great tool, it can be misleading. As you increase the muscle mass, you might not see any weight loss. That's because muscle weighs more than fat. Use a tape measure to measure the widest part of your stomach. Keep a log book with the measurements and I bet you'll see quite a difference over time.

The Wii Fit and Fit Plus are great tools, but not the most intense. If you are looking for a tougher workout, I'd suggest EA Sport Active More Workouts. I use both for the variety and intensity differences.

Don't get discouraged. 50 lbs is quite an impressive accomplishment.

I lost 30 pounds using Wii Fit. My spare tire went from quite large to very manageable, although there was some still there. Diet changes where you eat less fat and keep up with the cardio and ab routines should help. A friend of mine who has been an exercise buff for at least 5 years told me that ab exercises will tone your muscle there, but you still won't see the results if the ring of fat is still there. He suggested cutting back alot of carbs and milk which I've had some success with lately. Something to consider.

I find doing a lot of all over work definately takes a lot off it, though it takes more off everything else. I've got that problem now! I can feel my abs are toned, but my hard work is hidden by defiant bellt flab ¬_¬
Oh fudge, milk is bad for belly loss?! I've been drinking loads seeing how that's all that's in the fridge apart from coke! Grr!

On the wii fit, I'd definately suggest the plank, your abs get a fair workout there!

Milk is not the only thing that gets processed as sugar, as far as drinks go. The coke has to go. Water is the best thing to drink to help, because if you are drinking your calories, it will ALL be processed as sugar. I also recommend Diet Snapple Peach Tea. It tastes good without giving you calories. That way, those who don't like the taste of water have an option as well.

The spare tire is hard to lose, I still have mine, and it is going to take time for mine to get any better. Look into your genetics, as well. Sometimes, it is nearly impossible to lose because of a genetic inability to metabolize something correctly. But that once again brings us right back down to food.

Don't give up, just don't rely on an exercise to do it for you. You have put in the effort physically now it is time to take the time to control the diet. You can do it!!!
