The Importance of Exercising Properly
Exercise is great for your physical and mental health. It helps reduce stress, burn calories and strengthen your immune system, however, exercise must be done properly to produce the results you want.
The routine generator is an excellent tool for helping you to come up with that daily wii fit workout routine, however, you must absolutely listen to your body when you exercise. Everyone on this website has a different level of physicality, and while it is okay to push yourself a little bit, it is of vital importance that you do not push yourself past your body's limits. No pain, no gain right? Wrong, while you may feel some discomfort during exercising, especially for those of us who haven't done it in a while, but you need to recognize the difference between a little strain, and your body saying I can't handle this level of activity. Start slow and increase your workout times and effort as you get more used to it.
So how much exercise is the right amount? Well, professionals say that if you exercise at about 70% of your maximum you'll be able to exercise longer, and you will be less likely to hurt yourself. An excellent way to keep track of this is by knowing your Target Heart Rate Zones and keeping track of your pulse with a monitor or by calculating your 1 minute heart rate every so often. By keeping an eye on your pulse your body is telling you exactly how hard you are pushing yourself. So even if you're thinking in your head, "wow I really want to do that 1 hour hard endurance routine", your body may be saying "please I only can handle the medium 30 minute routines." It is far better that you do four 30 minute routines in 4 days than doing an hour long routine every other day. Safety and personal health first.
The routines on this website are meant as guides, if an exercise is going to push you too hard, simply replace it with a less strenuous one. We're not looking to lose 2 lbs today, we're looking for towards that long range goal. Yes it is hard, and yes it looks like it will take forever to reach, but it can be done, and you will do it.
