I use "Short" run to start my workout. It gives you the freedom of movement, that Basic, Advanced, and Free Step doesn't have.

Just because it says Run you don't have to Run.

As long as the Wii Remote detects movement, your Mii will move.

Use the gauge at the bottom of the screen instead of counting reps.

When your Mii's face advances to the next dot on the gauge, you can switch movements.

1. March in Place (Knee Lifts)

2. Heel Press (move 1 leg in front of you and place your heel to the ground softly then switch legs)

3. Side Step (start with single side steps then go double side step) the wider the side step, the harder it is. You will feel the burn after 2 minutes of side stepping!

4. Side Step with Side arm lifts.

There are 4 basic arm movements you can use Arm Curls, Side Arm lifts, Arm Lifts in Front, and Reach for the Sky!

Using Arm Lifts with leg movement will increase the amount of energy burned.

Don't worry about how slow your Mii Runs on screen. That just gives you more time to workout. You will still earn credits for slow runs when you reach the finish line.

After this I go to Basic Step and work my way to 10-Min Free Step.

Short Distant Run can also be used for a cool down stage.

Wow.. I didn't know there was this kind of flexibility to this exercise. I was just bouncing up and down, jogging in place.

Can you describe the arm movements a bit? I'm trying to imagine what you mean, but am failing.

could you maybe do a youtube video or something? I tried to look up these descriptions online like "side step" and all I got were truck parts lol.

I am confused. I seem unable to find one or two minute run on WII FIT Plus. Is it the basic run? Thanks!

I do let lifts and kicks when I do the free step.
